Abstract
Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) celebrated its 125th anniversary as the world's oldest school of tropical medicine. The flagship event to mark this occasion was a scientific symposium held in Liverpool on 25–27 November 2024. The symposium showcased the innovation and impact of LSTM’s research over their 125-year history with a diverse range of global health leaders and early career researchers engaged in exploring key issues and shaping discussions around future solutions to global health. In this TrendsTalk, we invite LSTM’s postgraduate students to summarise some of the parasitological innovations and impacts highlighted at the symposium for trypanosomiasis, onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis, and malaria.
