Abstract

We applaud The Lancet for its Editorial (June 10, p 2264)1 that emphasised the need to talk about menstruation. The Editorial highlighted this neglected issue and supports breaking the silence.2 However, we are concerned that some of the statements made are not substantiated by evidence from rigorous studies.
